Yvonne Kay Dahl

Yvonne (Vonnie) Kay Dahl (Isaacson) passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, at the age of 90. A Funeral service will be held at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home at 11AM on Saturday, January 4, 2025, with visitation to be held for an hour prior. Burial will be held at Oaklawn cemetery in Emmons. Chaplain Don Malinsky will be officiating.

Yvonne was born on September 30, 1934, in Albert Lea, MN at Naeve Hospital, to Harriet (Rasmussen) and Glenn Isaacson. She was baptized at Lunder Lutheran Church by Rev. A.C. Korsrud and confirmed at Emmons Lutheran Church by Pastor Berg. Vonnie spent her entire life in the close-knit community of Emmons, MN.

On May 30, 1953, Vonnie married the love of her life, Robert Dahl, at Emmons Lutheran Church, and together they built a beautiful life over 56 years of marriage until Robert's passing in 2009. They enjoyed a vibrant life, having one son, David, and enjoyed going out on the town with friends, going on snowmobile trips, riding motorcycles, water-skiing on state-line lake, and being close to family.

Vonnie dedicated 43 years to her career in dental offices, starting as a dental receptionist in 1953 with Dr. Stieler and Dr. Elmer Johnson in Albert Lea and Emmons. In 1982, she transitioned to working as a dental assistant in Lake Mills with Dr. Scott Bosacker until her retirement in 1996.

In her younger years, Vonnie enjoyed shopping, water skiing, golfing, gardening, knitting, cooking, baking, and going out dancing. As time passed, she continued to cherish tending to her garden and flowers, spending time with her sisters, and delighting in watching her two granddaughters grow up and excel in school and activities. Those who knew her will remember her for her kindness, her deep love for her family, her pink lipstick, her daily morning coffee, her sweet tooth, and her nightly can of beer.

Vonnie is survived by her son, David (Kerri) Dahl; her cherished granddaughters, Taylor (Sam) Sheldon and Sydney (Ethan) Evans; her sisters, Jean (Orlo) Willmert, Joan (Larry) Beck, and Harriet (Dennis) Seaton; her brother, Raymond (Thelma) Isaacson; her sister-in-law, Kathy (Dennis) Dahl; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert; her parents, Harriet and Glenn; her sister, Judy; her brother, Paul; her brothers-in-law, Dennis and Lynn; her sister-in-law, Joanne Dahl; and her parents-in-law, Lawrence and Viola "Bobbie".
