Wesley Raymond Hintz was born on August 23, 1931 in Bricelyn, the son of Raymond O. and Adelaide (Johnson) Hintz. He grew up in Bricelyn and graduated from high school there in 1949. Following high school, Wes served in the U. S. Marines during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge from the service Wes attended Mankato Teacherâs College. On June 24, 1956 he was married to Anna M. Fosness at the Bricelyn Lutheran Church. They lived in Brewster, MN and Wes taught school there for a year before moving to Alden. Wes taught Industrial Arts and Driverâs Education at Alden High School for over 30 years. He also coached basketball and football. He retired in 1991. Wes was a member of the Alden American Legion, the Alden Lions Club, and Redeemer Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and watching all Minnesota sports teams. Survivors include his children Bill (Carrie) Hintz and Amy (Wayne) Simoni; grandchildren Sam (Michelle) Hintz, Tyler (Gretchen) Hintz, and Matthew Simoni; great-grandchildren Parker, Ryan, and Emily Hintz; brother Mark (Sue) Hintz, brother-in-law Larry (Corky) Fosness, and several nieces and nephews.
