Warren Lee Nelson was born on February 13, 1938 to Clarence and Gladys Almberg Nelson in Albert Lea. He grew up on a farm near Emmons. Warren went to school and graduated from Kiester High School. He attended 4 years at Gustavus Adolphus College and then went on to receive his Masters at Indiana University. On June 13, 1972, Warren was united in marriage to Fiona Macdonald in Cape Town, South Africa. Warren was employed by Chevron Oil Company, as a geophysicist, for thirty years.. In 1999 the couple moved to their current home in Bellingham, WA. After Warren retired, he and Fiona did much traveling in Europe. Warren enjoyed photography, wildlife, stamp collecting, coin collecting, birding and working in his garden. Survivors include his wife, Fiona of Bellingham, WA; brothers, Darrell Rosemary Nelson and Douglas Elaine Nelson, both of Emmons; sisters-in-law, Tessa Lindsay Hogg and Margart Macdonald; several nieces and nephews. Warren was preceded in death by his parents; several in-laws and a nephew.
