Walter F. Schultz was born November 9, 1905, to Otto and Elizabeth Wille Schultz in Ackley, Iowa. He attended school in Ackley and Alden. On December 23, 1931, Walter was united in marriage to Cora Millhouse. He did custom baling and had a cream route. Walter also owned the Alden Recreation Parlor. In 1949, the couple began farming and continued until their retirement in 1981 when they moved into Alden. Walter's life revolved around farming and then gardening after his retirement. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and had been on the Alden Elevator Board and the Carlston Township Board. Survivors include his wife, Cora; his son, Gerald "Jerry" Schultz; grandchildren: Ronald and his wife, Terri Schultz, Linda and her husband, Wayne Nelson, and Jackie Schultz; and great-grandchildren: Reece, Jason and Katya, and Garrett and Gradon; Walter was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert and Carl, and sister, Catherine Bailey
