Walter Charles Jirsa was born August 24, 1924, to Charles and Mabel Lucas Jirsa in Albert Lea. He resided in the Glenville area his entire life and attended Glenville grade school. Walt graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1942, where he enjoyed playing the saxophone and cornet and also played for dances later in life.
