Walter Daniel Butler was born September 22, 1918, to Michael and Minnie Haley Butler in Newry Township. On September 3, 1954, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Schnorenberg in Austin. Walter was employed at Wilson & Co./Farmstead for 34 years. He truly enjoyed his retirement spending time in his garden and peddling to others what his family couldn't consume. Walter loved working in his wood workshop where he refinished many pieces of furniture. He could take a broken-down chair ready for the garbage and turn it into a real treasure. A lot of his work sits in many homes. Walter also spent time hunting and fishing when he could. Survivors include his daughter, Jody and her husband, David Nechanicky. Grandchildren: Renee Nechanicky, Patrick and his wife, Amber Nechanicky, Heidi and her husband, Scott Enger, Matt and his wife, Angi Nechanicky, son-in-law, Bob Ulland, Duluth, MN., Renee Zavala, Lisa and her husband, Dan Squires, Kim Ulland, Kari Ulland, and Jana and her husband, Joel Hossli; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Arlene Schnorenberg and many nieces and nephews.
