Wallace Manfred Jensen was born on November 26, 1930 to Wallace and Emyline Jensen Jensen. As a child he attended rural schools in District 64, Freeborn County. He also attended Albert Lea High School. Manfred was quite active in 4H and FFA in his youth. Many good times were spent at the county fair and the Minnesota State Fair. During the Korean War Manfred served his country in the U.S. Army. Following his military service he returned home and began his lifelong career as a farmer. On June 6, 1954 Manfred was united in marriage to Shirley Martin at the Oakland Lutheran Church. The couple lived a short time in rural Ellendale and then moved to a farm near Freeborn where they lived for several years. They next moved to a farm near Hartland where they lived for a year, until purchasing the farm where Manfred grew up, between Clarks Grove and Ellendale. They lived there until moving to Albert Lea in June of 2006. Survivors include his wife Shirley; his children Bruce Jensen of Ellendale, Cindy Meyman of Owatonna and her special friend Mike Ryan of Burnsville, Tom Nancy Jensen of Owatonna, Jeff Lollie Jensen of Blaine, Sue Wayne Vietze of Clarks Grove, and Lyndon Jensen of Ellendale; grandchildren Hilary Jensen, Robert and Rebecca Meyman, Andy Laura Jensen, Alex and Ashley Jensen, Erin Jensen, Janelle Josh Tubbs, and Shelby and Logan Vietze; great-grandchildren Aiden and Carson; brothers James Arlene Jensen of Albert Lea, Anton LaRue Jensen of San Francisco, Rollin Penel Jensen of Nevis, MN, Leon Mary Jensen of Chickasha, OK, Melvyn Nancy Jensen of Albert Lea, John Carole Jensen of Brandon, SD, and Daniel Jensen of Brandon; brother-in-law Dean Martin of Oakland, MN; and many nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends including his coffee drinking buddies in Ellendale and Clarks Grove. Manfred was preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Emyline Jensen, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Elizabeth and Ernest Martin, and his sister-in-law Jean Martin.
