Vivian was born June 5, 1929 in Bricelyn, Minnesota the daughter of Torstein (Ted) and Josephine (Josie) (Skogen) Helgeland. Vivian was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Frost, MN. She graduated from Bricelyn High School, attended Waldorf College, Forest City, Iowa and graduated from Lutheran Deaconess School of Nursing, Minneapolis, MN. On August 16, 1952 she married Cyrus Olson of Gibbon, MN.
Vivian worked as a nurse for 40 years, 37 of those years at Naeve Hospital (Mayo Clinic Health Systems), Albert Lea, MN. She was active in the congregations she was a part of and faithfully attended Bible studies, Circles and small groups. She taught Bible Studies, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and sang in the choir. She enjoyed card, coffee and birthday parties. She loved being at the farm and camping with her family at Cass Lake. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Vivian is survived by her husband Cyrus, daughter Judy (Eric) Aune, of Norwood Young America, MN; son, Curtis (Val Hovland) Olson of St. Paul, MN; grandchildren Jaron (Liz Invaer)Aune,Chaska, MN; Jennifer (Joe, Alison and Grace Miller)Aune, Waconia, MN; Kirsten (Nolan) Radford, Chaska, MN and great-granddaughter Keira Radford; sister Agnes Lodden, Humboldt, Iowa and numerous nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Esther Hovland, Selma Kiihn, and three brothers, Norman, Gilman and Jerome Helgeland.
