Virginia Hazel Harms

December 12, 1923 — February 19, 2017

Memorial services for Virginia H. Harms, age 93, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home.  Rev. Robert Stohlmann will officiate. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery.  Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Virginia died Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Oak Park Place in Albert Lea.

Virginia Hazel Harms was born December 12, 1923 in Clay County, Iowa, the daughter of William and Mildred (Biggins) Selby.  She grew up and attended school in Hartley, Iowa.  On February 6, 1943, Virginia married LeRoy W. Harms in Jefferson City, Missouri.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, including the quilting group, along with the Red Hats, and the Senior Center. Virginia had a true love for the farm and enjoyed working along with her husband. She enjoyed gardening, working and mowing her lawn, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Virginia is survived by her sons, Reginald (Sheri) of Albert Lea and Roland (Kari) of Belleview, Florida; grandchildren, Eric (Andrea), Sean (Jill), Dawn, Rachel (Steven), Jill (Keaton); great-grandchildren, Ashley, Ellie, Hailey, and Luke.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy and her parents.
