Verne "Bud" Bolinger

July 3, 1928 — September 1, 2007

Verne Charles "Bud" Bolinger was born on July 3, 1928 in Janesville, Minnesota, the son of Earl and Lily Born Bolinger. He grew up in Janesville and moved to Albert Lea with his family at the age of 14. Bud went to work at Pieper's Shoe Repair as a young man. In 1950, he joined the U. S. Army and served in Korea. On April 11, 1951, Bud was united in marriage to Barbara Quam in Glenville. He was honorably discharged from the service in 1952. Bud owned the Deluxe Cleaners and then went to work at the American Legion where he was a bartender for 38 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, a life member of both the American Legion and the VFW, and a member of the Eagle's Lodge. Bud loved fishing, and especially loved his grandchildren and family. Survivors include his wife Barbara of Albert Lea, children Colleen Peter Lagomarsino of Denver, CO, Brad Dianna Bolinger of Austin, and Karen Michael Henry of Albert Lea; grandchildren Scott Jennah Lagomarsino of Denver, David Lagomarsino of Gunnison, CO, and Ryan, Seth, and Jordan Henry, all of Albert Lea; step-granddaughters Angie Jeremy Mlenar and Catrena Haukoos; six great-grandchildren; brother Harold "Hod" Doris Bolinger of Albert Lea; sisters Dorothy John Gonzalez of Apple Valley, Vivian Rodger Sorenson of Albert Lea, Nancy Jim Bottleson of Glenville, and Cindy Jerry Fenton of Las Vegas, NV; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, his son Richard, twin sister Ferne Hausmann and sister Francis Rupp.
