Theodore Dennis Harty was born November 17, 1938, to Dennis M. and Mary G. Mattocks Harty in Albert Lea. He attended St. Theodore's School through the 8th grade and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1957. Following graduation, Ted attended the Oliva Thine Beauty School, graduating in 1959. He then owned and operated the Parkview Beauty Shop in Owatonna. On July 20, 1963, Ted was united in marriage to Gail E. Allison at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Owatonna. The couple moved to rural Albert Lea in 1964. Ted worked for Drug Supply Co. and Hemingway Iron Works. After retiring, he was employed part time at Sterling Drug in Albert Lea. Ted was a member of the Church of St. Theodore and has been an active member of the Albert Lea Eagles for 40 years. He served as President, as a trustee, and was involved with the Eagles Cancer Telethon for years before being diagnosed with cancer. He was also a member of the Elks. Ted was dedicated to helping people and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed Gail's flowers and having his large lawn neatly mowed. Ted loved to travel, play golf, and spend time with his cat, Mr. Boots. He and Gail enjoyed many vacations, especially the trip to England and Ireland in 1998. Ted was very proud to be a full-blooded Irishman.
