Synola Mae Payne was born May 12, 1924, to William H. and Beatrice Mathison Hall in Albert Lea. She grew up in Albert Lea and married Frank Payne on March 10, 1945, at First Lutheran Church. The couple moved to Minneapolis in 1950, to California in 1961, and returned to Albert Lea in 1998, after their retirement. Lola had been employed as an LPN. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and had been a Salvation Army member as a young person. Lola enjoyed quilting and was a lay reader and communion assistant in her church. She was a community service liaison for her church in Rancho Cordova California helping with Russian immigrants. Lola volunteered for many organizations including the Food Locker and the Capital NTL Television Prayer Ministry through the Assemblies of God Church. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara and husband, Raymond Ramirez of Prior Lake; grandchildren, Heather and husband, Rob Schlegel of Excelsior and their daughters, Arden and Sophia, and Serenity Ramirez of Savage; sisters, Dorothy Waltz and Joy White, both of Albert Lea; sister-in-law, Marie and husband, Clayton Engen of Glenville; and several nieces and nephews. Lola was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; and brothers, Stanley and Pershing Hall.
