Susan Jean Brown

September 17, 1951 — November 28, 2010

Susan Jean Brown was born on September 17, 1951 in Wells, the daughter of Derald and Therese (Dusza) Ehrich. She grew up in the Albert Lea area and graduated from Albert Lea High School. On June 2, 1979 she was united in marriage to Edward Brown at the West Freeborn Lutheran Church. Susan had been employed by Cargill. She was a member of St. Theodore's Church. Susan enjoyed going to movies every Saturday with her husband Ed. She also enjoyed going to bingo and watching Vikings games.

Survivors include her husband Ed of Albert Lea, her sisters and brother Dawn (Bruce) Jacobson, Michael (Pat) Ehrich, JoAnn Ehrich, and Michelle (Jeremy) Brue; nieces and nephews Melissa (Todd) Hanson, Jess Jacobson and special friend Kate, Jill (Tyson) DeMeyer, Brian and Kimberly Ehrich, Jeremy, Christopher, Jennifer, and Amber Bishop, Jazmin and Jadin Brue, Jill (Chad) Wallaker, Laurie (Cory) Hielscher, Scott (Racheal) Schroeder, and Cassie, Kaylie, and Colton Foss; great-nieces and great-nephews Mikayla, Kylie, and Braden Hanson, Dylan Schroeder, Paige Priebe, Malcolm, Mackenzie, and Payton Wallaker, and Morgan McGuire; mother-in-law and father-in-law Colleen and Marvin Foss, sister-in-law Audrey (Robert) Schroeder, brother-in-law Michael (Sherrie) Foss, and her best friend Marlene Baseman.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents Derald and Therese, and by her grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Susan fought courageously for twenty years with cancer until her last breath was taken with her family by her side. Susan wasn't only our sister but our best friend. She was a "true hero" to us all. To all of the cancer survivors her words of wisdom were to keep strong and keep fighting. Her favorite song was "Hero" by Mariah Carey, which was given to her by her family. Never give up hope and find the strength to carry on. She will be deeply missed by all who have known her.
