Funeral services for Shirley Hildora (Lorentzen) Tuttle, age 79, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Salvation Army Worship Center, 302 Court St. in Albert Lea. Major Sandy Hunt will officiate. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the worship center on Saturday. Shirley passed away Friday, April 27, 2018, at St. John’s Lutheran Community.
Shirley Hildora (Lorentzen) Tuttle was born July 20, 1938 to Ethel Nickolena (Jensen) Lorentzen and Roy Benjamin Lorentzen in Bemidji, Minnesota. Shirley was one of seven children, Emmet Lorentzen, David Lorentzen, Charles Lorentzen, James Lorentzen, Deloris (Lorentzen) Becker, and Mary Ann Jensen. She grew up in Albert Lea and went to District 241 Schools. Shirley was married to Clarence LeRoy Tuttle on June 8, 1957. Shirley gave birth to one daughter, Cheryl Christine (Tuttle) (Roger) Kannisto and three sons, Curtis Edward (Janelle) Tuttle, Rodney James Tuttle, and Charles David (Lori) Tuttle. Shirley worked for Land-O-Lakes, Albert Lea Taxi, and the Albert Lea Tribune.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Clarence Tuttle; daughter, Cheryl (Tuttle) Kannisto; sons, Curtis Tuttle and Charles Tuttle; brother, Emmet Lorentzen; sister, Maryann Jensen; step-sisters, Markie (Terry) McCoy and Carole (Terry) Dalenger; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Tuttle; mother, Ethel Lorentzen; father, Roy Lorentzen; brothers, Charles Lorentzen, James Lorentzen, and David Lorentzen; sister, Deloris (Lorentzen) Becker; and infant sister.
