Shirley L. Schwarz

Shirley L. Schwarz was born August 11, 1935, to Clarence O. and Valeria L. Bunde Muetzel in Good Thunder, MN. She attended schools in Mankato and graduated from Mankato High School in 1953. On September 14, 1957, Shirley was united in marriage to Dean H. Schwarz at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mankato. She and Dean spent nearly 47 loving years together. The couple has resided in the Hartland area since 1973. Shirley was a Para-professional at the NRHEG School in New Richland for many years and touched the lives of many students. She enjoyed dancing and card parties and the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. Shirley loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and many friends. Survivors include her husband, Dean, of rural Hartland; daughter, Nancy Schwarz Johnston and her husband, David, and their daughters: Allie Alexandria, 16, Rachel, 13, and Martha, 10, Johnston; and son, Dan Schwarz and his wife, Lori, and their sons, Jacob, 7, and Joshua, 4, Schwarz. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the care staff of Crossroads Community Hospice. Shirley will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
