Shirley was born on December 23, 1934 in Marlow, OK to Ovie and Eva (Rogers) Adkins. Shirley grew up in Purdy, OK and graduated from high school in Carmen, OK. On June 3, 1955 Shirley was united in marriage to Elford Magner in Galesburg, KS. The first 12 years together, along with their two boys, were spent in Kansas before moving to and settling in Albert Lea in 1968. She treasured every minute spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
