Sharon Rae Jensen was born in Albert Lea on September 11, 1937, the daughter of Alfred and Emma (Hansen) Meyer. She grew up in Walters and attended country school there. Sharon graduated from Kiester High School in 1955 and attended Mankato State University. On December 26, 1956 Sharon was united in marriage to Curtis Jensen in Walters. She worked as a Realtor for Century 21. Sharon enjoyed travelling, playing cards, and growing flowers. She loved to go to the Freeborn County Fair, and showed her flowers there for many years. Sharon also loved planning vacations and trips for Curt and her family. Her children fondly remember the many family trips she planned for them. Blessed be her memory.
Survivors include her husband Curtis, her children Tammy (Jim Strupp) Verchota and Scott (Peggy) Jensen; grandchildren Jenna Verchota, Audra (Kevin) Graves, Emma Jensen, and Curtis Jensen; great grandchildren Bradley Jensen and Dale Graves; brother Allan (Candace) Meyer; and several nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, her mother-in-law and father-in-law Marie and Curtis Jensen, a sister, Sandra, in infancy and a brother Bruce Meyer.
Memorials are suggested to the Peace and Power Ministry of First Lutheran Church, the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice, or the Relay for Life.
