Funeral services for Rollin Lemoine Halverson, age 85, of Albert Lea will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Round Prairie Lutheran Church. Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Interment will be at the Round Prairie Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by Freeborn County area veteran’s organizations. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, June 6th at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Rollin died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
Rollin Lemoine Halverson was born on May 20, 1926 to Henry and Mabel (Knutson) Halverson in Albert Lea. He grew up in rural Glenville and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1944. After school Rollin served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict from 1952- 1953. Returning from service, Rollin continued to farm before he entered the service. He was a member of Round Prairie Lutheran Church and a life member of the VFW. Rollin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Blessed be his memory.
Survivors include his sisters Elaine Bjerke and Betty (Philip) Callahan both of Albert Lea; niece Mary Callahan of Apple Valley and nephew Bradley Bjerke of Albert Lea.
Rollin was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Byron Bjerke.
