Richard Charles Woolery passed away on January 26, 2025, in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Born on July 27, 1944, in Blue Earth, Minnesota, Richard was raised in Knoxville, Iowa. After graduation, Richard pursued a degree in industrial engineering at Dunwoody Institute. During the Vietnam War, he proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force, where his dedication to duty and honor made a lasting impact.
On December 21, 1974, Richard married Carol, and they made their home first in Freeport, Illinois and then Waseca, Minnesota, where he worked for the E.F. Johnson Company. Later, the family relocated to Eagan, Minnesota, where Richard opened a Subway restaurant, a venture that became a family affair. Richard and Carol were married for 43 years until her death in 2018.
Following Carol’s death, Richard found love again with Suzanne Harland from McCook, Nebraska. The two married in 2022, but tragically, Suzanne passed away in 2023.
Richard was preceded in death by his wives, Carol and Suzanne, and his parents, Charles and Norma. He is survived by his sons, Matt (Kristin) and Tim, three granddaughters, and his brother, Wayne (Jeannette) and many nieces and nephews.
