Richard "Dick" David Brekke

Memorial services for Richard “Dick” Brekke, age 80, formerly of Hartland, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home in Albert Lea, Minnesota.  Pastor Kent Otterman will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date.  Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Dick died of heart disease January 4, 2018 at his home in Dallas, Texas.

Richard “Dick” David Brekke was born December 6, 1937 in Albert Lea, Minnesota, the son of Melvin J. and Jeannette L. (Jordahl) Brekke.  He graduated from Freeborn High School.  In his earlier years, he was a successful farmer in the Hartland area.  Dick spent his later years in Dallas.

Dick is survived by his sisters, Catherine (Brekke) Anderson and Marilyn (Brekke) Gillette; nephews and nieces, Kenneth (Sherri) Anderson, Jeannette (Kevin) Nelson, Jane (David) Frazer, and Matt (Nikki) Gillette; special cousin, Mike Brekke; and other relatives and friends.
