Raymond Fredric Beck was born on May 26, 1921 in Pickerel Lake Township, the son of Fredric and Anna (Huber) Beck. He grew up in Conger and the Albert Lea area, graduating from Albert Lea High School. On December 12, 1944 Ray was united in marriage to Shirley Schiager at Grace Lutheran Church. Ray served in the U.S. Army in Alaska in the medical corps. Upon returning home he worked for the Ford Garage as a body man for over 40 years. Ray was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Eagleâs Lodge, the American Legion, and the V.F.W. He enjoyed all sports, especially the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. He also liked to fish and enjoyed going to his grandsonâs sporting activities.
Ray is survived by his son Larry (Joan) Beck of Emmons, grandsons Kevin (Becky) Beck of Coon Rapids, and their children Nathan and Evan; and Jamie (Lori) of Austin and their children Isabel, Isaac, and Jack; sisters-in-law Gretch Hanson of Hollandale and Bev Rasmusson of Albert Lea, and nephews and nieces.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shirley, sister Clara (Roland) Reubands, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Cleo and Clair Mansager, Maynard Rasmusson, Wayne Hanson, Gaylord and Virginia Dahl, and Bobby and Millie Schiager.
