Phillip LeRoy Stenseth was born August 20, 1925, to Emil and Olga Amundson Stenseth in Freeman Township and was a life long resident of the Glenville area. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Philly married Bernice Diesman in 1952 and together they had two sets of twins. He had farmed in the Glenville area for many years, retiring in 1981. Philly was a member of the Round Prairie Lutheran Church and the Glenville American Legion. He was an avid outdoorsman and gardener. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping, and had an excellent sense of humor. Survivors include his daughters: Susan Jack Donelan of Battle Lake, Sharon Bobby Kelly of Corcoran, June Bruce Malenke of Winona, and Jane Lynn Thorson of Bricelyn; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Duane Virginia Stenseth of Albert Lea; sister, Margaret Harris Johnson of Newman Grove, NE; and several nieces and nephews. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Ervin, James, George, and Orville; and sister, Stella.
