Pearl S. Manemann

August 16, 1921 — July 23, 2006

Pearl S. Manemann was born August 16, 1921, to Chester and Lily Flaskerud Rosenberg in Hayward Township. Pearl attended school in Glenville and Manly, Iowa, and graduated from Kensett High School in 1939. In the early 1940s, she moved with her family to California and worked for Coca-Cola Co. and Consolidated Aircraft. On April 4, 1943, she married Albert Manemann at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in San Diego. Their daughters were born in California. After Albert returned from military service in Europe, they returned to the Glenville area. At this time their son was born in Albert Lea. Pearl and Al farmed in the Glenville area until moving to Albert Lea in 1972. Pearl was then employed at St. John's Lutheran Home until she retired in 1987. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Albert Lea and enjoyed swimnastics at the YMCA, yoga classes, coffee with her friends, attending soup and pie suppers, and watching the Minnesota Twins games. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Albert in 1999. Pearl is survived by her daughters, Ruth and her husband, Paul Schretlen of Brussels, Belgium, Mary Lou and her husband, Philip Schilling of Marshalltown, IA; son, Paul and his wife, Paulette Manemann of Albert Lea; her six grandchildren: Paul A. Schretlen of Brussels, Belgium, Stephanie Schretlen of Rotterdam, Holland; Matthew J. Julie Schilling of Rochester, MN; Amy Brent Allen of Columbus, OH, Aaron Alicia Manemann of Albert Lea, and Megan Manemann of Milwaukee, WI; and two great-grandchildren, Ashton and Aidan. She is also survived by her brother, Peter Luverne "Rocky" Rosenberg and his wife, Lucille of California. Memorials are preferred to the Peace & Power Ministry of First Lutheran Church.
