Paula Anna Kroeger, age 88, of Albert Lea, passed away with family by her side on Friday, May 8, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Health System – St. Mary’s Campus.
Paula was born on January 8, 1932 in Reiterswiesen, Germany to Philipp and Josepha Gruebel. She grew up and attended school in Reiterswiesen. Paula was united in marriage to Leonard Kroeger. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses in Albert Lea. Over the years she enjoyed fishing, traveling, collecting dolls, antiquing, card games, cooking for her family, and putting puzzles together. She loved spending time with her family. She deeply loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Paula was a dedicated wife and mother. She enjoyed visiting with her friends and neighbors. Some of Paula’s hobbies included gardening, baking, canning, sewing, and needle work. She also gave a lot of her time helping others and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Paula is survived by her loving husband, Leonard; children, Ilonka (Lowell) Nelson, Charlie (Jane) Kroeger, John (Helen) Kroeger, Linda Anspach; grandchildren, Gloryana Nelson and husband, Andrew Shimek, Phillip (Tammy) Kroeger, Carolinda (Brad) Curtis, Brian (Kristin) Bauman, Shannon (Melissa) Nelson, Laura (Tyler) Levan, and Lyndsey Anspach; and great grandchildren, Parker, Drew, Trystan, Ryder, Deklan, and Isaac.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Philipp and Josepha; grandson, Christopher Kroeger; and siblings, Joseph (Agnes) Greubel, Gustav (Carola) Greubel, Grenadier Greubel, Otto Greubel, and Richard Greubel.
