Omar Monroe Dahl was born on June 21, 1921 to Carl and Hilda Olson Dahl in Ellendale, MN. He moved to Manchester and attended country school. He served in the United States Army during WWII from 1942-1945. On May 17, 1947 he was united in marriage to Donna Walk at the First Lutheran parsonage in Albert Lea. As a young man, Omar farmed but the majority of his work years were spent as the manager of the VFW and the Albert Lea Country Club. In his retirement he enjoyed working for Crossroads Trailer. Omar was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the American Legion and VFW. Omar was an active member of both organizations, he loved the parades and was active in the Cooties and the Honor Guard. Omar was instrumental in getting the Avenue of Flags organized. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Gin Rummy, but most of all; he loved family gatherings and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Donna; children, Patricia Bill Clifford, Sandra Clint Nelson, Catherine Charlie O'Donnell, Dean Lisa Dahl, Donnell Dale Haukoos, David Kathie Dahl, Jody Mike Johnson, and Jamie Sam Kirsch; grandchildren, Brian Amy Clifford and their daughter Abby, Jeff Carissa Clifford, Ryan Nelson, Tracy Ted Rockett and their children, Rachel and Joseph, Tricia Chuck Micallef, Madeline Dahl, Amy Kevin Stambaugh and their children, Miranda and Kade, Amanda Christopher Humphrey and their daughter Faith, Darren Johnson, Dathan Johnson, Amber Todd Deming and their children Dylan and Hailey, Adam Kirsch and Lindsey Kirsch; brother, Chester Jewel Dahl, sister, Margaret Harold Mouw, sisters-in-law, Phyllis Walk and Marvyl Dahl; brother-in-law, Daryl Walk and many nieces and nephews. Omar was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Dahl, and Art and his wife Lorraine Dahl; sister, Martha and her husband Melroy Nelson; and step-sister, Selma and her husband Henry Bakken.
