Funeral services for Nylene A. Thompson, age 89 of Hartland, MN., will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Hartland.  Pastor Mark Hillmer will officiate.  Burial will be at the Hartland Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 – 7:00 p.m. at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.  On-line condolences are welcome at: www. Nylene died on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Homestead Hospice in Owatonna surrounded by her family.
Nylene Audrey Thompson was born on August 21, 1926 in Kiester, MN., the daughter of Alfred and Esther (Anderson) Bergerson.  She attended the “gravel pit” school and graduated from Kiester High School.  Nylene was united in marriage to Herman Thompson on May 31, 1952 at the North Freeborn Lutheran Church.  She worked as a nurses aide and physical therapy aide at the Good Samaritan Center where she was named “Volunteer of the Year”.  Nylene enjoyed sewing, baking (she was known for her donuts), fishing and embroidery.  Music was a big part of her life from playing the player piano with the 4H friends, teaching Sunday School children music and singing in the church choir.  Nylene also volunteered at “Farming of Yesteryear” where she gave tours of the home that she grew up in.  She was an active member of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church serving with the Rachel Circle, Altar Guild, the Church Choir and as a Sunday School Teacher.
Nylene is survived by her children; Michael & Barbara Thompson, Douglas Thompson, Joanne & Curt Frisk, Arlene Thompson and Ron & Laurie Thompson.  Grandchildren: Scott & Terri Thompson and their children, Elizabeth and Audrey, Joe & Cindy Thompson and son Corwin, Deanna & John Quade and sons Ryan and Brandon, Jeremy Frisk, Ben Frisk & Ashley Laue, Karen & Andrew Tewes.  Brother Marlin & Kay Bergerson, sister-in-law Donna Bergerson and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herman, parents, 2 brothers in infancy Elton and Alfred, brothers Orlan and LaVerne (Opal) Bergerson.  Parents-n-law; Thom & Mina Thompson. In-laws:  Alma & Haaken Hanson, Hank & Inga Thompson, Ruth & Emory Baldwin, Oliver Thompson, Edvin Thompson, Lillian Thompson, Melvin & Alma Thompson, Esther & Charles Corum, Nora & Ivan Brekke,  two infant siblings, Stella and Elmer.
