Nellie Elizabeth Amsrud

Nellie Elizabeth Amsrud was born on May 8, 1940 to Walter and Ivilda Paul in South Carolina. She grew up and attended school in South Carolina. Nellie came to Minnesota as a young woman and worked various occupations including house cleaning, waitressing, and factory work. For many years she ran Nellie's Sports Card Shop with her long time companion LuVern Jensen. She was a member of Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. Nellie enjoyed bingo and going to the casino. There is nothing Nellie wouldn't do for anyone and she will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her companion of many years, LuVern Jensen; children, Mary Michael Glahn of Cedar Rapids, IA, Donna Todd Denton Callahan of Stewartville and Robin Marr of Bismarck, ND; step-children, LuVern "Mitch" Donna Jensen, Matthew Sandy Jensen, Debra Ron Lestrud, and William Barb Jensen all of Albert Lea; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and aunt, Mary Benton of Mankato. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents and her special cat "Morris".
