Milton Larson

September 25, 1915 — December 14, 2010

Funeral services for Milton Larson, age 95, of Albert Lea will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate.  Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Glenville.  Visitation will be from 4-6:00 p.m. Sunday, December19th at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.  

 

Milton died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Thorne Crest Retirement Center.

 

Milton (Milt) Larson was born on September 21, 1915 to Cinius and Anna (Anderson) Larson near Glenville.  He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Glenville.  Milt attended school in Glenville and graduated from Albert Lea High school in 1933. Milt married Mabel Mittag on September 26, 1937 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Myrtle, MN.  The couple farmed north of Glenville for twenty years.  After Milton quit farming, they moved to Albert Lea and Milt began his career working in the wood shop at Streater Industries until his retirement.  He was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church.  Milt enjoyed fishing, making furniture, golf, playing cards and cribbage.

 

Survivors include his sister-in-law, Milly Larson of Albert Lea; brother-in-law, Don Mittag of Lansing, MI; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

 

Milton was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mabel who died in 2008 after 75 years of marriage; twin brother Milford Larson; brothers, Marion Larson and James Larson; sister, Ruth Korsmo; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Arlene Schilling, Clarence Korsmo, Hazel Larson, Nellie Larson and Mae Mittag.
