Mildred Christene Stiles was born August 14, 1916, to Andrew C. and Sadie Larson Nelson in London Township. She attended country school and became the organist at the Trondhjem Lutheran Church when she was 12 years old. On December 23, 1934, Mildred was united in marriage to Irving L. Stiles at her parents' home in Glenville. The couple owned their home at 110 South First Avenue for 62 years. They were volunteers at St. John's Lutheran Home for six years. Mildred was a lifetime member of the Sons of Norway. She was also a member of the First Lutheran Church, the Eagles and the Eagles band, and the Uffda Band. Survivors include her son, Arvid and his wife, Kay Stiles of Wells; daughter-in-law, Carol Stiles, of Albert Lea; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 4 step great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and 4 step great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, Cathie and husband, John Wagner and Mary Stiles. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Irving; daughter, Joyce Moyer Grescyzk; son, Keith, sons-in-law, Gordon Moyer and Jay Grescyzk; brother, Leonard and his wife, Catherine Nelson; brother-in-law, Orville and his wife, Myrl Stiles; and nephew, Mike Stiles.
