Maynard Ardell Dempewolf was born on Sept. 22, 1932 in Cresco, Iowa the son of Nathan and Mary Lucille Gaul Dempewolf. He attended rural school and was a farm hand on the family farm. On February 17, 1952 Maynard was united in marriage to Janice Edwin in Northwood, Iowa. Maynard served his country for a short time in the Air Force. After his discharge he began working for Rilco until his retirement from Alamco having worked for 47 years. Maynard enjoyed fishing, reading and studying the Civil War, feeding and watching birds and being with his family. He was a member of the Church of St. Theodore. Survivors include his wife, Janice, Albert Lea, Son; Mark and wife Sharon Dempewolf, Albert Lea, daughter, Diane and husband Roy Stockwell, Albert Lea. 7 grandchildren; Julie Dempewolf, Jennifer Dempewolf, Janelle Stockwell, Casey and wife Kelly Dempewolf, Jayda and husband Shannon Oakland, Jacob and wife Hillary Stockwell and Broc Dempewolf. 7 great-grandchildren; Kyler, Caleb, Nicholas, Markus, Andrea, Mallory and Claire. Sister, Ila Jean and husband Gene Loge, Albert Lea, sistersin-law; Clarice Dempewolf, Albert Lea and Dorothy Dempewolf, Denver, CO., brother-in-law, Arden Bergland, Albert Lea and nieces and nephews. Maynard was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
