Maureen was born in Lake Mills, IA on May 26, 1933, to Milford L. and Vione (Draves) Wuerflein. Maureenâs parents lived in Hanlontown, IA and St. Paul, MN before moving to Mansfield Village where she attended Freeborn County School District #87 through grade eight, graduating from Kiester High School. Maureen was confirmed in her faith in Mansfield Lutheran Church.
Maureen was employed as a bookkeeper for international Harvester in San Diego, CA; Universal Milking Machine, Albert Lea; First National Bank of Fairbanks, AK and Trinity Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. First and foremost she was proud to be a farm partner and homemaker and diligent volunteer.
On February 14, 1955 Maureen was united in marriage to Glenn F. Ruble in Albert Lea.
Maureen loved music, enjoyed traveling, bowling, golf, playing cards, reading and entertaining. She enjoyed keeping in touch with friends and family members. She loved people and was genuinely interested in them. Her greatest loves were Glenn, her children and grandchildren.
Maureen was an enthusiastic volunteer in her church, 4-H, County Extension programs, and politics. IN 2010 she was instrumental in organizing a Parkinson Support Group which is now the Southern Minnesota Parkinson Support Group. She was an enthusiastic supporter to raise funds and awareness of Parkinsonâs Disease.
Maureen is survived by daughter, Kimberly (Mikal) Gooden, Emmons; sons Douglas (Pam) Ruble, Albert Lea and Peter (Paula) Ruble, Hastings; grandchildren Erin (Matt) Smith, Katie (Mark) Huttemier, Brady (Megan) Gooden, Madlynn Ruble, Grady Ruble, Riley Ruble, Piper Ruble and Pacer Ruble; great-grandchildren Jake, Jesse, Alexandra and Kameron Smith, Ben and Joey Huttemier, and Luke and Owen Gooden; brother Jerome (DeLoris) Wuerflein; sister Frances Thompson; sister-in-law Phyllis Hendrickson; brothers-in-law Norman (Joyce) Ruble and Elton (Janice) Ruble; Uncle George Draves; special cousin Mary Ann Wistrom and many nieces and nephews.
Maureen was preceded in death by her parents Milford L. and Vione J. Wuerflein; Husband Glenn in 2012; father and mother-in-law Clifford and Dagmar Ruble; sister Julianne Vangen and brothers-in law George âBudâ Hendrickson and Gary Vangen.
