Marlys Kathleen Jean was born on August 20, 1927 to Orton and Harriet (Liane) Bolstad in Fargo, ND. She moved with her family to Iowa Falls where Marlys graduated in 1945. On December 27, 1946 Marlys was united in marriage to Warren O. Jean at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. The couple came to Minnesota in 1950. Marlys worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell and later as a nurseâs aide at Naeve Hospital. She enjoyed watching golf, tennis and most sporting events, doing crossword puzzles and watching reality TV. Marlys treasured the time spent with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all.
Survivors include her husband, Warren of Albert Lea; children, Vonnie Runkle of Urbandale, IA, Chuck Jean of Waterloo, IA, Mike Jean of Alamosa, CO, Tom (Mary) Jean of Mankato, MN, Bob (Rhonda) Jean of Eyota, MN and Sharon (Glen) Twernbold of Chatfield, MN; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marlys was preceded in death by her parents, Orton Bolstad and Harriet (Liane) Deichert; sister, Evonne England; sister-in-law, Lenore Bauldry; brothers-in-law, Cleo Bauldry and Clinton Hanson; and son-in-law, Charles Runkle.
