Marlys B. Jahnke

Marlys B. Jahnke was born on Jan. 24, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN. the daughter of Rudy and Josephine Rieten Grasdalen. She was baptized at Central Lutheran Church, Minneapolis. Marlys attended and graduated from Albert Lea High School. On Sept. 21, 1947 she was united in marriage to Vern Jahnke at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Austin. Marlys worked in the office at Wilson's and then at Almco retiring from there after 24 1/2 years. She enjoyed collecting, traveling and spending winters with her husband in Texas. Marlys was a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband, Vern, sister, Joan Grasdalen, Minneapolis; brother, Loren and wife Mary Grasdalen, Albert Lea. 2 nephews; Keith Grasdalen, Alabama and Eric Grasdalen, Rochester. She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Scholarship Fund.
