Marlene DeVries

Marlene DeVries, 90, passed away at her home in Albert Lea on Thursday, January 4, 2024.

Marlene was born on August 18, 1933, to Ernest and Alma Sorenson in Albert Lea.  She was a graduate of Albert Lea High School, and later married Jack DeVries on December 1^st, 1951.  Throughout her life, she worked in the family business. 

Marlene was an avid sewer and loved to read and travel.  She was a fabulous cook and loved to cook for her family.

Marlene is survived by her children, Clair (Peggy) DeVries, Robin DeVries, Kim (Connie) DeVries, and Lee (Shelly) DeVries; grandchildren Aaron DeVries, Megan (Brian) Schleicher, Christopher DeVries, Sarah Lassise, Mandy (Adam) Ewald, Caleb (Sara) DeVries, Natasha DeVries, Marina DeVries, Nicholas DeVries, Ben (Melissa) DeVries, Abbey (Brian) Warner, Jordan DeVries and Sadie (Anthony) Tate; and 26 Great-grandchildren.  Her daughter-in-law Jan DeVries; brother-in-law Bill Conlan; niece Amy Jordan; and nephew Brian Conlan.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Alma Sorenson, husband Jack DeVries, and sister Marvyl Conlan.
