Funeral services for Marjorie Belle Anderson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church. Rev. Janet White will officiate. Interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 â 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Marjorie died Saturday, May 28, 2016 at her home.
Marjorie Belle Anderson was born February 10, 1929 in Avoca, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Maud (Fish) Page. She grew up and attended school in Avoca. After high school, Marjorie moved to Omaha, Nebraska and worked for Armor Foods and Kelloggâs. While she lived in Omaha, she met the love of her life, Virgil Lee Anderson at a roller rink. Three weeks later on July 4, 1949 Marjorie and Virgil were married in Albert Lea. The couple made their home in Albert Lea and were blessed with four children. Marjorie was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, reading and watching Wheel of Fortune. Most of all Marjorie loved babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children Charlotte Anderson, Carolyn (Mark) Brenegan, Daniel (Bonnie) Anderson and Vickie Lampman; grandchildren Denise (Scott) Merten, Kimberly (Kevin) Shoemaker, Angela (Trey Blythe) Gulbrandson, Clint (Jamie Smith) Anderson, Derek (Tracy) Anderson and Andrea (Adrian) Merino; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers Amos Page, Earl (Sharron) Page and Bonnie (Kenneth) Maloney; sister Marilyn Dille and many nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Virgil; brothers Howard (Peggy) Page, William Page, Elaine Page, Jackie Page, Donald (Betty) Page and Roger Page; sister Betty Page and great-granddaughter Whitney Nelson.
