Marion L. Hoffman was born on January 13, 1923 near Harlan, IA, daughter of Herman and Neva Nelson and moved to Clarks Grove in 1938. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1941. She was united in marriage to J. Ken Hoffman in Clarks Grove on September 12, 1947. She was a member of First Baptist Church and had been a Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher and active in Women's groups. Marion was employed at National Coop, FmHA and Thorne Crest Retirement Center before retiring in 1983. She enjoyed traveling, golfing, hand work and time with family. Survivors include her three sons, Allan and his wife Carrie of Henderson, NV, Paul and and his wife Patti of Owatonna, MN, Bob and his wife Laurie of Cedar Falls, IA; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Harriet Buzz Knudsen and Audrey Paulson both of Albert Lea; sister-in-law, Carol Nelson of Clarks Grove; Ken's sisters, Gladys Kunter of Ft. Collins, CO and Dorothy Stroot of Placentia, CA; Ken's brother, Donald Hallie Hoffman and many nieces and nephews. Marion was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Ken; brother, David Nelson; brother-in-law, Russell Paulson and granddaughter, Valerie Hoffman.
