Marilyn Joanne Brandt

Marilyn Joanne Brandt was born on Aug. 7, 1938 in Winnishick County, Iowa the daughter of Julian and Mildred Jerdee Hopperstad. At the age of 5 years, the family moved to Albert Lea where Marilyn attended and graduated from Albert Lea High School. She furthered her education at the Albert Lea Vo-Tech in the accounting program. On March 13, 1955, she was united in marriage to Donald Brandt at Grace Lutheran Church where Marilyn has been a charter member. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, traveling and spending time with her family. She found great joy in her cats and feeding the many ducks in the neighborhood. Survivors include her husband Donald, children; Cindy and husband Hiep Nguyen, Judy Nielsen, Donald Jr. and wife Rhonda Brandt, grandchildren; Alan and wife Gabriela Nguyen, Donald Kimber, Amy Nguyen, Adam Churchill, Sarah Brandt, Ashley Brandt, Wesley Brandt, Alexandra, Ashley, Autumn, Alyssa and Andrea Clark. Great-grandchild, Christian Nelson. Mother, Mildred Hopperstad, and sister Carol Thompson. Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, brother, John Hopperstad, infant children, Vicky Lynn and David Julian and her in-laws, Arnold and Edna Brandt.
