Marie Lyonna Jahnke was born on February 15, 1916, to Edward and Bertha Jordan Jacobs in Des Moines, Iowa. The family moved to the Mansfield area when she was an infant. Marie attended the rural Mansfield schools and worked at the Mansfield Creamery wrapping butter. She also worked at Peterson's Restaurant in Walters and cleaned homes in Albert Lea. Marie married Albert Jahnke on February 15, 1939 and worked with Albert on the family farm. She enjoyed sewing for her family, gardening, canning, working on the farm, traveling, and collecting rocks from her travels. Marie was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden. Survivors include her children, Roger and his wife Sheila Jahnke of Alden, Jerry and his wife Elaine Jahnke of Alden, Mrs. Cheryl Mischke of Alden, and Dale and his wife Susie Jahnke of Wells; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Anna Jahnke, Dorothy Newman, and Deloris Jacobs; brothers, Albert Marjean Jacobs and Donald Jacobs; and many nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Albert; son-in-law, Walter Mischke; grandson, Russell Mischke: one sister and two brothers.
