Margit Ester Virginia Eng was born on December 25, 1918 to Herman and Ester Nygren Käll in Sweden. She grew up in Sweden and on October 6, 1945 she was united in marriage to Nils E.G. Eng in Sweden. In November of 1953, Nils came to the United States to find work. Then, on May 26, 1954, Margit and their children immigrated to the United States and the family settled in the Albert Lea area. Margit learned to speak English from watching television and her children. After the children were grown, Margit began working at St. John's Lutheran Home as a CNA in the late 70's. She enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, gardening, yard work and watching television. Her favorite times were when family visited for coffee. Survivors include her children, Tom ShaRon Eng, June Les Etienne, Leif Cathy Eng, Robin Eng and James Eng; grandchildren, Thomas Eng, Mark Eng, Lora Corbo, Kristina Burnett, Kimberly Knutson, Lisa Johnson, Erin Myers, Jody Shearer, Stephanie Eng, Jeffrey Eng, and Alexander Eng; 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Margit was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Ester Käll; husband, Nils; son, Ralph in infancy; grandson, Erik Eng; and her siblings, Ivan, David, Ingrid, Dagmar, and Birger.
