Funeral services for Margaret Jensen, age 102, of Albert Lea will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday June 6, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Clarks Grove. Rev. Jamie Cameron and Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Interment will be at Clarks Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 â 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Margaret died Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Home.
Margaret Jensen was born April 27, 1913 in Lerdal, the daughter of James and Emma (Nelson) Paulson. She attended country school in Lerdal and graduated from Albert Lea High School. Margaret went on to continue her education at the Mankato Business College. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clarks Grove. On January 18, 1936 Margaret was united in marriage to Owen Jensen in Clarks Grove. Together they made their living farming in rural Albert Lea and Blooming Prairie and retired to Albert Lea. Margaret was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. Margaret and Owen enjoyed fishing together and they spent 17 winters in Corpus Christi. She was always working with her hands. Margaret enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, woodworking and entertaining. She also enjoyed Hardanger, Sudoku and crosswords. In her later years she especially enjoyed her Wednesday morning coffee girls.
Survivors include her children Everett (Dianne) Jensen of Clarks Grove, Marianne (Gary) Fitzgerald of Carlton and Audri (Allen) Mayo of Cumby, TX; grandchildren Debra (Brad) Pirsig, Daryl (Deanna) Jensen, Dean (Sandy) Jensen, Scott Fitzgerald, Lisa (Ken) Waletzko, Lora (Tom) Little, Lana (Dan) Dahl, Chuck (Brandi) Dathe and Chris (Cecilu) Dathe; 23 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents James and Emma; husband Owen and brother Lowell Paulson.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Clarks Grove Area Heritage Society or donorâs choice.
