LuVern Louis King was born on October 10, 1935 in Albert Lea, the son of Clarence and Della Waldemar King. LuVern grew up and attended school in Albert Lea, graduating from Albert Lea High School. On May 5, 1957, he was united in marriage to Virgetta R. Bankes in Nashua, Iowa. LuVern and Virgetta moved back to Albert Lea in 1972 where they owned an operated a janitorial service. LuVern enjoyed classic cars, gardening, reading, classical music, Christian music, and singing. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Albert Lea. Survivors include his children, Michael and his wife Lynni King of South St. Paul and Michelle King of Waseca; grandchildren Samuel and Sydney King; brothers Don and his wife Diann King of Albert Lea and Darrell and his wife Marie King of Austin; sisters Iona and her husband Chuck Rydmark of Anoka and JoAnn and her husband Donly Cromwell of Geneva; mother-in-law Blanche Bankes of Albert Lea; brother-in-law Jack Bankes and his wife Liz of Austin; and several nieces and nephews. LuVern was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Virgetta in September of this year, and his brother, Keith King.
