Lucille E. Ladwig was born on August 11, 1920, in Albert Lea, the daughter of William and Ella Kuehl Schmidt. She graduated from Albert Lea High School. On July 8, 1943, Lucille was united in marriage to Bernard Schwemmler in Albert Lea. Following Bernard's death, Lucille married Heinz Ladwig in June of 1969. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, knitting, handiwork, and playing cards. Lucille was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Alden American Legion Auxiliary, and was active with the Conger Community Center. Survivors include her children Jerry and his wife Cindy Schwemmler of Albert Lea, Karen and her husband Mark Nelson of Rochester; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother Marvin and his wife Althea Schmidt of Albert Lea; sister Charlotte Nelson of Albert Lea, and nieces and nephews. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Bernard and Heinz, her daughter Paulette, and her brother Donald. Lucille leaves her friends and family with many wonderful memories and she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
