Lowell F Olson

Funeral services for Lowell F. Olson, age 84, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at First Lutheran Church.  Rev. Sean Forde will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 16 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Lowell died Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea.

Lowell Frederick Olson was born June 18, 1934 in Albert Lea, the son of Norvald and Elvina (Hedensten) Olson.  He grew up in Glenville and Albert Lea, graduating from Albert Lea High School.  On June 26, 1955, Lowell married Clarice Jacobson at East Freeborn Lutheran Church. He worked for the Albert Lea School District for 31 years, retiring as the building and grounds manager.  He was a member of First Lutheran Church.  He was also a member of the Lions, Eagles, and Elks.  Lowell loved GMC vintage motorhomes.  He belonged to a GMC motorhome group and enjoyed traveling with the group, including a trip to Las Vegas.  Lowell also enjoyed woodworking, repairing cars, and eating out.

Lowell is survived by his brother, Norman (Kathy) Olson; children, Greg Olson, Randy Olson (special friend, Sharon Bolinger), Pam (Mark) Godtland, Jerry (Peggy) Olson, Paul Olson (special friend, Diana Knemper); son-in-law, Greg Henderson; special friend, Judy Verdoorn; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Lowell was preceded in death by his wife, Clarice “Corky” Olson, daughter, Diane Henderson; parents, Norvald and Elvina Olson; parents-in-law, Clarence and Clara Jacobson; and other relatives.
