Loren Douglas Murray

Loren passed away peacefully with his family at his side, on Monday, February 11, 2008 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester. Loren D. Murray was born on October 3, 1929 near Odessa, MN to Ruthven and Lora Strei Murray. He graduated from Bellingham High School. Loren married Arlene Vomhof on June 6, 1954 in Winsted, MN. He was employed for many years at the Albert Lea Tribune. Loren was known and loved by many as a devoted husband, a loving father and an adoring grandfather. He will be missed by many for his gentle smile and warm heart. Survivors include his wife Arlene, who shared his life for 54 years; his sons, Paul Murray of Austin, MN, Dave Linda Murray of North Mankato, MN, Tom Denise Murray of Grand Marais, MN, and his daughter Ann Tim Colstrup of Ellendale, MN. He will be especially missed by his grandchildren, Andrea, Lisa, Ashley, Kevin, Lauren, Alex, Soren, Erik, Douglas, Daniel, Dennis, Darcie, Nathan and Emily and his great-grandchildren, Dylan, Hannah, Jadyn, Ava, and James. He is also survived by his brother, Jim Lois Murray of Benson, MN; twin sister, Lorraine Murray of Ontario, CA, sisters, Geneva Hayes of Appleton, MN, and Ione Mortenson of South San Francisco, CA. Loren was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Don, Ken and Rudy; and sisters, Inez Flager and Millie Lofthus.
