Lora L Toenges

Lora Lee Fredrickson Toenges was born on August 28, 1948 to Delmer and Ruby Severson Fredrickson in Freeborn County, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Round Prairie Lutheran Church. Lora attended school at District 47 in rural Glenville, Ramsey and Halverson elementary and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1966. Lora married Terry Anderson May 7, 1966. She later married Larry Toenges on March 18, 1978 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, MN. The couple continued to reside in Albert Lea. Lora loved keeping very active, she worked for and retired as cook from St. John's Lutheran Home. She enjoyed bowling, fishing and cooking with her grandchildren, bird watching, rummaging and antiquing. Lora's biggest love was collecting swan figurines and associated items in all their forms. She has attended and been a member of the following churches, Round Prairie Lutheran, Trinity, Zion Lutheran and is currently a member of First Lutheran in Albert Lea. Lora was diagnosed with breast cancer in December of 2003, and then with a reoccurrence in July of 2007. She kept busy and active in-between chemo and other treatments. Lora loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Survivors include her husband, Larry LuVerne Toenges of Albert Lea; mother, Ruby Constance Fredrickson; children, Kent Boyum Lori Austin of Hayward/Champlain, MN, Tracie Anderson of Albert Lea, Troy Anderson Matthew Zastawrny of Seattle, WA, Andrea Anderson Cheryl Eddie of Sioux Falls, SD, Sara Toenges Phil Wheeler of Albert Lea; grandchildren, Clayton Maynard, Benjamin Olsem, Miranda and Alyssa Boyum, Mara Hartzell, Paige and Parker Boyum, Jared and Audry Anderson-Olson, Hannah and Chloe Larson; sister and brothers, Nina Terry Cole of Albert Lea, Steve and Beth Fredrickson of Baxter, MN, Frank and Susan Fredrickson of Minnetonka, MN, Dow Fredrickson and Beth Karwoski of Scandia, MN; mother and father-in-law, Darwin and Vivian Toenges of Albert Lea; brothers-in-law, Virgil and Ameritta Toenges of Modesto, CA, Daniel Toenges of Albert Lea, Charles Toenges and Jill Perreten of Lexington, MN; aunts and uncles, Jeanne and Richard Ulve, Agnes Dolmstech, Jean Severson, Bob and Thais Fredrickson, Ben and Phyllis Fredrickson, Elsie and Manton Marcusen, and Beverly and Robert Phillips; 15 nieces and nephews. Lora was preceded in death by her father, Delmer; grandparents, Ben and Florence Fredrickson and Alfred and Mina Severson; aunts and uncles, Jerry Fredrickson, Hannah and Rueben Burtness, Mildred and Paul Foster, John and Arlene Severson, Alda and Edward Otterstrom, Helen and Harvey Paulson and Oscar Severson.
