Lewis Herman Weseman was born on May 1, 1922 in Orth, MN, the son of Fred and Carrie (Knoll) Weseman. He grew up in Hollandale and attended elementary school there. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1942. On November 21, 1944 Lewis was united in marriage to Marian Dorothy Caron at St. Maryâs Catholic Church in Newry Township. During WWII, Lewis served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for Consolidated Foods, Dykema Construction, and then for the City of Albert Lea in the Street Department for many years, retiring in 1987. Lewis was a member of St. Theodoreâs Catholic Church, the Albert Lea Senior Citizens and a 50-year member of the American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking, playing baseball and softball. Lewis was a member of the Freeborn County Softball Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his wife Marian, children Adele Tyhurst, Diane (David) Leeds, David (Julie) Weseman, and Carl Weseman; son-in-law Gordon Dentinger; daughter-in-law Stephanie Weseman; thirteen grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law Kenneth Jergenson and Raymond Cochlin; sister-in-law DeLoris Caron, and many nieces and nephews.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Carrie Weseman, his daughter Barbara Dentinger, his son Daniel Weseman, son-in-law James Tyhurst, four great-grandchildren, sister Mathilda Jergenson, brothers Lloyd (Jen) , Claude (Beatrice), and Theodore Weseman, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Eli and Dorothy Caron, brothers-in-law Hilaire and Romeo Caron, and sister-in-law Rosalie Cochlin.
