Leonard Walter Trost

Funeral services for Leonard Walter Trost, age 96, of Glenville will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010 at First Lutheran Church in Glenville.  Rev. Leonard died Monday, December 20, 2010 at the Northwood Retirement Center.

Leonard Walter Trost was born on November 17, 1914 to Walter and Alma (Licht) Trost in Webster City, Iowa.  He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Deer Creek Township, Fort Dodge, IA.  Leonard was united in marriage to Bernita Barger at Cedar Falls, IA on November 17, 1935.  He lived on a farm at Clare, IA until 1956, when the couple moved to a farm south of Myrtle, MN.  Leonard worked for Speltz Elevator in Myrtle, the Albert Lea Seed House, and in the auto department at Albert Lea Vo-Tech thru the Experience Works program.  He also worked for London and Shellrock townships grading roads.  Leonard and Bernita moved to their home in Glenville, MN in 1986 and Leonard entered the Northwood Retirement Home in November 2009.  He enjoyed spending time with his family.  Blessed be his memory.

Survivors include his daughter, Marcia Larson; son, Charles and wife Linda Trost; grandchildren, Daniel and Evy Trost, David and Glenys Trost, Chris and Kathi Larson, Kevin and Lori Reyerson, Gary and Teri Larson, Kelli Trost, Krista Trost and Kari and Josh Luehmann; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernita; son, Donald; grandchildren, Kathleen, Douglas and Jonathan Trost; son-in-law, Robert Larson; one brother and three sisters.
