Leo L. Mercer was born August 5, 1925, to Earl G. and Adla E. Vickers Mercer in Ocoant, Nebraska. He served in the United States Army Air Force during WWII in the European Theater from 1943 - 1945. On August 14, 1947, Leo was united in marriage to Sarah Frances Lawler in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska. The couple moved to Albert Lea in 1972. Leo had been employed as a truck driver for the Bud Meyer Trucking Co for many years. Survivors include his daughter, Connie Chance and her family; sisters: June Mercer, Joyce Wiggin, and Lola Momon; brother, Gilbert Mercer; and several nieces and nephews. Leo was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sarah; his son, Robert A. Mercer; and his brother, Blaine E. Mercer.
