Lee Nelson

Lee C. Nelson was born on May 3, 1947 to Maynard and Mary Belshan Nelson in Albert Lea. He grew up on the family farm north of Myrtle. Lee attended school in Myrtle and graduated from Glenville High School. After school he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On April 30, 1977 he married Catherine Schumm at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Lee worked at Wilson & Co., Hormel Foods and most recently at Northwood Meats. Lee liked helping with farm work whenever possible and watching television in his spare time. Lee also enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends. Survivors include his daughter, Carrie; former wife, Catherine; grandchildren, Faith, Christian and Emma; brothers, Larry D. Nelson and Darrel M. Nelson; sister-in-law, Fran Nelson; and many nieces and nephews. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard and Mary Nelson; and brother, Dale Nelson.
