LaVonne Esther Morris was born on March 30, 1913 to Clarence and Mildred Bates Hill in Dows, IA. She grew up in the Dows area and graduated from high school there. On March 14, 1934 she was united in marriage to O. Dewain Morris in Dows, IA. LaVonne farmed with her husband on several locations in Iowa. The couple came to Minnesota in 1952 where they continued farming. LaVonne also worked for Pete & Rubes Market in Ellendale. She was a member of the Ellendale United Methodist Church where she was active in circle. LaVonne was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Ellendale. When LaVonne moved to Albert Lea in 1984 she joined the Albert Lea United Methodist Church. LaVonne loved gardening and flowers. Survivors include her children, David Bonnie Morris of Edmond, OK, Karen John Hunt and Donald Susan Morris both of Albert Lea; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and sister, Evelyn Boyington of State Center, IA; many nieces and nephews. LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dewain; daughter-in-law, Janice Morris Gimberline; granddaughter, Diana Morris; brothers, Lawrence Pearl Hill, Laurel Jenny Hill, Clair Fern Hill, Arthur Ilene Hill, and Aubrey Mabel Hill; sisters, Edith Ralph Fitz, Veva Clifford White, and Mildred Vernard Pepper; and brother-in-law, William Boyington. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Heart Fund or the donors choice.
